The 24-hour breakdown for salespersons and associate brokers
Key rules most agents miss
Total hours aren't enough โ categories matter. ADRE's system blocks your renewal if any single category is missing, even if you have 24+ total hours. Surplus hours in one category flow into your elective bucket; they don't fill other mandatory categories.
You can't cram it all into one weekend. ADRE limits you to 9 credit hours per 24-hour period, so the 24 hours physically require at least three separate days.
Your school doesn't report your courses. You submit each certificate yourself through ADRE's Licensee Login portal (course number, start date, end date). Courses can be submitted anytime during your two-year window โ don't wait until renewal day.
Only ADRE-approved courses count. CE from another state or university credits are not eligible.
Code of Ethics is not an ADRE requirement. That's a REALTORยฎ association membership requirement โ it doesn't count toward your 24 and isn't submitted to ADRE.
Brokers have a higher bar
Designated brokers, self-employed brokers, and delegated associate brokers complete 30 hours, including Broker Management Clinics 1, 2, and 3.
What it costs to renew
ADRE's timely renewal fee is $60 for salespersons ($120 for brokers). Renew late and that jumps to $125 ($245 for brokers).
